Gabija Vaičiulienė

Gabija Vaičiulienė, based in Vilnius, obtained her Licentiate in Gregorian Chant from the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music (PIMS) in Rome in 2025, where she studied medieval repertoires under the guidance of Prof. Franz Karl Prassl. She further developed her expertise through numerous masterclasses with renowned specialists, including Crawford Young, Marcel Pérès, Bartosz Izbicky and others, focusing on a wide range of medieval and Renaissance music traditions.
She is the founder and artistic director of the early and traditional sacred music ensemble GŠ Ansamblis, active in Vilnius, Lithuania, since 2016. With this group, she has presented a variety of programs dedicated to early and traditional music. In 2025, she co-organized the international festival of liturgical and traditional music Lucernalis in Vilnius for the first time, contributing to the promotion of European liturgical heritage in Lithuania.
Her artistic activity includes collaborations with several European ensembles, such as Ensemble Jerycho (Poland), with whom she recorded the CD Josquin in Poland (2024), Vox Praeclara (Italy) and others. She is also a member of the contemporary ensemble Melos (Lithuania), with which she received the Young Creator Award in 2022 for her contribution to the dissemination of contemporary vocal music in Lithuania and abroad. As a cantor, she regularly participates in important liturgical celebrations at the Chapel of Divine Mercy and St. John’s Monastery in Vilnius.
