Jerycho

Conductor – Bartosz Izbicki

JERYCHO is a vocal ensemble specializing in traditional religious chant. The group performs historical Polish and Latin liturgical music, incorporating improvised polyphony adapted by Bartosz Izbicki. By reimagining the soundscape of ancient repertoire, JERYCHO embodies a vision of a living Polish chant tradition sustained into the 19th century.

Founded in 2014, the ensemble has since developed numerous projects, released eight albums, and given over 180 performances across Poland and internationally—in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Lithuania, Austria, and Ireland. JERYCHO continues to grow its audience through live concerts, recordings, and digital outreach. Their Facebook page has over 11,000 followers, and their YouTube channel approaches 2 million views.

Notable projects include Missa Polonica AD 1475, Laudario Polonico, music dedicated to St. Stanislaus and St. John the Almsgiver, and albums such as 966, Surgit Leo fortis, Bogarodzica, Golgota. They have performed at festivals such as Musica Divina, Banchetto Musicale, Misteria Paschalia, and Trigonale (Austria). More recent programs feature a continuo section and include Bogarodzica – continuo, Vesperae Resurrectionis 1620–2020, Beatitudines, and tributes to Josquin des Prez and Kiprijonas Bazilijus.
